1808 Garlic
Taste the difference…Not all garlic is created equal. Grocery store garlic, the softneck variety, is mass-produced, treated with chemicals, and stored for longer periods, which can deaden its flavor. In contrast, our organic garlic is fresh, with a richer, more complex taste and better shelf life.
2024 is our second growing season—we started with 30 lbs, and this year, we harvested over 150 lbs! There are two main types of garlic: hardneck and softneck. Hardneck varieties, like our Music and Romanian Red, have a robust, spicy flavor and produce, yielding 6-8 cloves, and feature a flowering stalk called a scape, a delicacy in its own right. Softneck varieties, like our Inchelium Red, are sweet and mild, yield 14-24 cloves, and store longer. Hardnecks, in general, are better cooked while softnecks are delicious raw or garlic butter.
We’ve included a sampling of all three. Store in this bag in a cool, dark place.—your garlic should last 4-6 months.
