Sautéed Kale Flowers

Did you know the flowers of kale are also edible? We like to sauté ours in a little 1808 olive oil to make the stems nice and tender or eat raw in a salad!

Ingredients

• Kale stems with any small leaves, flowers and buds – about six inches from bottom of buds
• Garlic
• Onion
• 1808 Olive Oil

Instructions

1. Toss kale - buds and all - in a sauce pan with chopped onion and smashed garlic. Cook until stems are tender and garlic loses some bite. Add salt and red pepper flakes to taste.
