Three ways to rid yourself of Kale guilt

Did you know that the biggest complaint about CSA garden subscriptions is that subscribers receive too much kale and feel guilty when they throw it out? Kale is a superfood - rich in nutrients - just a cup and a half have 308% of one’s daily recommended intake of Vitamin A, 200% of vitamin C, less than 1 gram of fat, a minimal 43mg of sodium, 10 grams of carbs, 2 dietary fiber and 3 grams of protein!

This week we have three quick ways to get your kale on - Kale Smoothies, Kale Chips, and Kale Sir Fry.

KALE CHIPS

Try them in soup, as a side dish or for a very healthy snack.

Ingredients

Instructions

  1. Heat the oven to 200°
  2. Remove the center stem of kale, tear into medium-sized pieces.
  3. Pat dry with a paper towel
  4. Mix oil, garlic, salt, and spices, then toss with the kale pieces
  5. Spread on a parchment-covered baking sheet in a single layer
  6. Bake until lightly browned (about 15-30 minutes)

Instructions

  1. Heat oil on high heat.
